Excel 2007 Protect Sheet Expand Groups. To protect those columns, I simply set manually the Locked All i want is to go on entering data into the protected sheet by auto expanding the table. I have tried checking boxes when in the protection dialogue box such as "Format columns", with no success.
What I need is how to hide some specific columns with pw but the rest of the work sheet and the workbook is free.
Click on Tools, Protection, and Unprotect Sheet.
There have been a few references online to some internal coding (VBA?) that might be a solution, but the directions I've seen aren't very clear. I want to be able to protect the sheets, to protect some formulas and such from user intervention, but it seems there's no way to do that and still allow the user to expand or. It's possible, and not very difficult, to get past Excel's password protection.
